Art, Nature & Protest

April is a colourful month with trees, plants and flowers in bloom around the countryside. Protests in support of Palestine are ongoing in Kent and across the world. Artist/Campaigners like Jason deCaires Taylor are using innovative ways like his ‘Sirens of Sewage’ art installation in Whitstable to highlight environmental issues and pollution hidden in the sea.
A trip to Folkestone Art Gallery to visit the Punk and Pop Art Exhibition 2024 was a visual treat. Limited edition prints of works by Banksy, Grayson Perry, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and the Guerilla Girls were on sale and admired by visitors. Many colourful shops in Folkestone have eye catching window displays and shopfronts winding up the steep high street.
