Whitstable RNLI Fundraising Dip

Crowds of people of all ages turned up to take part in the second Boxing Day fundraising event for Whitstable RNLI. Proceeds from ticket sales and collections are to support the crew to continue saving lives at sea. Many hardy men, women and children wore fancy dress and Santa hats. It was advertised to blow the Christmas Cobwebs away- and with the temperature around 3-6 degrees yesterday it definitely achieved its aim!

The Sea Scrub Sauna on the beach next door to the RNLI building offered a free post dip warm up in their sauna or hot tub for people taking part. The RNLI is a charity primarily funded by donations. The search and rescue service has been saving lives for over 200 years. The majority of RNLI people are volunteers who are supported by expert staff, and they all work together to help communities both at home and abroad to save lives.
